Katy's poem
Arriving on an April day
My zest for life fading away
My body wracked by vicious pain
Previously treated with disdain
Holy Cross surprised me from day one
Met with smiles from everyone
The carers, physios as they came
With plans to help me through my pain
Treatment, it began so soon
With PT on that afternoon
‘Christmas’, came early this year
Though I was due to shed many a tear
My legs locked in tight embrace
Were, urged apart at gentle pace
Bit by bit pushed so far
By means of a, medieval T bar
But soon the jokes began to fly
As my first day here raced by
When upset, the care staff calmed me down
Not once did I perceive a frown
Gentle compassion and respect
Kindness, I did not expect
The hydro pool soothed the pain
FREE MOVEMENT — I was myself again
Thanks to each and everyone
All Holy Cross staff, you are second to none
We won’t forget your special care
And share your goodness everywhere
With gratitude, Happy Memories, And our love
