Tickets now on sale for 2025 Boxing Day Run

Residents, families, and running enthusiasts are invited to lace up their trainers and take part in this year’s Boxing Day Run at Hindhead.

The event offers the perfect chance to shake off the Christmas indulgence while raising funds to support vital patient care at Holy Cross Hospital.

Hindhead resident Matt Dellar has been the organiser of the run since 1997 and during this time the event has raised nearly £70,000 for Holy Cross.

Matt Dellar says: “The Boxing Day Run is all about community spirit. It’s a wonderful way for people to come together after Christmas to burn off a little energy, enjoy the fresh air, and support a charity that does incredible work.

“Over the years, the run has become a not to be missed tradition for many families. This year we look forward to the return of loyal supporters and promise a warm welcome to runners who are taking part for the first time.”

The Boxing Day Run is open to people of all ages and running abilities. The 3.5 mile scenic route takes in the beautiful Hindhead Commons and includes Gibbet Hill and the Devil’s Punchbowl. Participants can run, jog, or walk at their own pace, making the event as festive and fun as it is fitness friendly.

Holy Cross specialises in neurorehabilitation, general rehabilitation and complex respiratory care in an environment that helps patients and their families feel safe and supported. Frances Campion-Smith, Chief Executive at Holy Cross says: “We are deeply thankful to everyone who takes part in the Boxing Day Run. Every ticket purchased helps us provide personalised rehabilitation programmes which empower patients to rebuild their confidence and take meaningful steps forward in their recovery. This event truly makes a difference, and we’re honoured to be the chosen charity.”

The run costs £15 to enter and sets off at 11am on 26 December from the Devil’s Punchbowl Café. Tickets must be bought in advance and are available from www.boxingdayrun.org.
