Boxing Day Run raises £5,200 for Holy Cross patients

Runners who took part in the 2024 Boxing Day Run at Hindhead have helped raise £5,200 to support patient care at Holy Cross Hospital.

Event organiser Matt Dellar handed over the cheque to hospital staff, who work tirelessly to provide round-the-clock, personalised care for the 42 patients currently at Holy Cross. The hospital, which has been part of the Haslemere community for over 100 years, specialises in neurorehabilitation, general and post-operative rehabilitation, and complex respiratory care. The funds raised will help enhance the quality of care and support provided to both inpatients and outpatients.

Matt Dellar who has organised the run for many years says: “The event saw fantastic participation, with runners coming from far and wide to support this annual community run. Although people take part for lots of different reasons, there is always a great atmosphere. I always enjoy presenting the cheque to Holy Cross and meeting some of the people who benefit from the donation. It’s important for runners to know their generosity is truly appreciated and put to very good use."

"We are incredibly grateful to all the runners, sponsors and volunteers who made this event a success," said Frances Campion-Smith, Chief Executive at Holy Cross. "Their support will make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families."
