Holy Cross thanks its volunteers with a special lunch
Holy Cross Hospital’s festive celebrations got off to a fine start with a special Christmas lunch to thank its incredible team of volunteers for all that they do to support patients.
The homemade three-course lunch was cooked by Holy Cross’s resident chef who gained his experience in 5-star hotels and two AA Rosette restaurants.
The lunch provided an opportunity for volunteers to meet other volunteers as well as members of staff and the Sisters.
Frances Campion-Smith, Chief Executive at Holy Cross said: “Our volunteer team plays a vital role at Holy Cross. They dedicate their time and commitment to ensuring patients have opportunities to socialise, participate in activities and go on trips. The lunch was a token of our appreciation for everything they do.”
Throughout the year the volunteers support patients to take part in baking, crafting, games and other activities. Others regularly visit on a Friday afternoon to play live music.
Holy Cross’s creative therapy and activities team have some exciting plans for 2025 and would very much like to welcome some new volunteers so that more patients have the opportunity to experience the sense of achievement that comes from taking part.
